What are the opening times of Fabrique des Lumières?

Who is eligible for the family rate?

The family rate is for 2 adults + 2 children (5 to 17 years old).

Are the Museum Card and ICOM Card valid at Fabrique des Lumières?

No, the Museum Card/ICOM Card are not valid.

Do I need to make a reservation in advance for children under 5?

Admission for children under the age of 5 is free, but they still require a ticket, which you can arrange online or at the ticket booth.

Is there a discount for 65+?

There is no separate rate for people over 65, you may choose our adult rate.

Is the Stadspas valid at Fabrique des Lumières?

If you have a Stadspas with a green dot, you can visit Fabrique des Lumières for free upon presentation of your card. Tickets cannot be reserved online, but can be arranged at the ticket desk on-site.

I am a journalist, do I get free admission?

Yes, press card holders benefit from free admission upon presentation of a valid press identity card. Please send a request for free admission to service@fabrique-lumieres.com.

Visiting Fabrique des Lumières

How long can I stay at Fabrique des Lumières?

Only your starting time (your time slot) is set. On average, a visit takes one hour.

Can I visit with a stroller?

For safety reasons, strollers are not permitted inside Fabrique des Lumières. We therefore advise you to bring a baby carrier instead.

Is there somewhere to store my bag(s) during my visit?

Yes, a guarded cloakroom with lockers is available at Fabrique des Lumières. Suitcases are not permitted.

Can I bring my pet or animal with me?

Pets are not permitted at Fabrique des Lumières - with the exception for assistance dogs.

Is there a playlist available with the music played during the exhibitions?

Yes, of course! You will find the playlist of the exhibition From Vermeer to Van Gogh, Dutch Masters here and the playlist of the exhibition Mondriaan, An Abundance of Colour here.

Am I allowed to take pictures during my visit?

Yes, you may take pictures and videos. Please note that flash photography is not permitted, as to not disturb other visitors.

Are the exhibitions suitable for children?

We do not recommend a visit for children under 3 years old.

Is there a museum café?

Fabrique des Lumières does not have a museum café. There are several lovely cafes and restaurants nearby.

Accessibility

Is Fabrique des Lumières accessible for people with reduced mobility?

Fabrique des Lumières is accessible for people with reduced mobility, with the exception of the tiered seating in the Hall (which will not affect your overall experience).

Can I visit Fabrique des Lumières with a mobility scooter?

Mobility scooters are not permitted in our exhibition spaces. The spaces are accessible for wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs and walkers. There are also two wheelchairs available on-site, which cannot be reserved.

Are there any disabled facilities available at Fabrique des Lumières?

There is a disabled toilet available, as well as two wheelchairs - our staff members are at your disposal for assistance.

Is there a disabled parking facility nearby?

Upon presentation of a disabled parking card at the on-site gate keeper, a limited number of parking spaces are available directly at the Westergasbrug for a maximum of 3 hours (exept for during festivals). Disabled parking spaces are also available in the Q-park Westergasfabriek parking garage. You can reserve a parking space at Q-park in advance with a discount through this link. Fabrique des Lumières is approximately an 8-minute walk (600 meters) from the parking garage.

Are there any seating options available in the exhibition areas?

We have a total of 40 seats available in the main exhibition space, the Hall. A limited number of foldable chairs are available at the entrance.

Are the exhibitions suitable for people with epilepsy and/or vertigo?

Due to the light effects, the exhibitions may present risks for people with epilepsy and/ or people who suffer from vertigo.

Tickets

I’m arriving earlier/later then my reserved starting time, is that allowed?

Tickets are only valid on your selected date and time.
- However, you do have half an hour to arrive after your booked start time (this does not apply to the last start time of an exhibition).
- It is also possible to change the start time according to the availability, by clicking here. Please note! It is only possible to change the ticket(s) before your booked day and time.

Can I change my online ticket(s)?

You can modify the date and/or start time of your ticket(s) at any time before your visit by clicking here. It is only possible to change your tickets if a different date and time slot is available.

Can I buy tickets on-site?

Depending on availability, tickets can also be purchased on-site at our ticket booth.

Do I have to print the ticket?

You can print out your ticket, but you don’t have to. You can also present your ticket on a mobile device at the museum entrance.

Can I cancel my ticket(s)?

Tickets are non-refundable. It is possible to change the day of your visit and your start time to another available time, by clicking here.
